Opportunities and issues: maritime sector Rapid increase in container vessels capacities and industry re- structuring leading to increase in container market shares -reefer and even bulk sectors Increasing concentration of imports on a handful of gateways Opportunities to process and distribute at these locations -Dover Straits/Thames/Humber etc. Port-centric locations offer also offer low-cost export locations given spare capacity available on out-bound legs Awareness of vulnerability because of that concentration
