Overview  This contribution presents UL MIMO for 16m  Here we proposed a UL MIMO structure with following characteristics Support 2 Tx antennas at MS side Support CL-SU MIMO for localized RB allocation for UL MIMO Hybrid SU-MIMO and MU-MIMO CSM for 4 Rx antennas at BS side oEach MS work in SU-MIMO with 2 Tx antenna oThe whole UL is in CSM(MU-MIMO) by pairing 2 MS together with 4 Rx antennas at the BS Support hybrid diversity mode and SM mode for CSM oThe MS with lower SINR work in diversity SU-MIMO mode oThe MS with higher SINR work in SM SU-MIMO Mode Support multiple codebook for CL-MIMO MS in CSM

Advantage of Proposed UL MIMO  Pros Support 2 Tx antennas at the MS; Increase peak data rate of UL for MS Support 2 MIMO Mode for 2 BS Rx antennas SU-MIMO Mode (Only 1 MS with 2 Tx antennas) MU-MIMO CSM mode(pair 2 MSs together with 1 Tx antennas) SU-MIMO CSM

Advantage of Proposed UL MIMO  Pros Support 4 Rx antennas at the BS; Increase peak data rate of UL for BS Support 2 MIMO Mode for 4 BS Rx antennas Hybrid SISO-MIMO CSM Mode 1 MS with 2 Tx antennas. 2 MSs with 1 Tx antennas SU-MIMO CSM mode (pair 2 MSs together with 2 Tx antennas) Hybrid SISO-MIMO CSMSU-MIMO CSM

Advantage of Proposed UL MIMO  Pros SU-MIMO CSM; Diversity can be employed for MS with lower SINR SM can be employed for MS with higher SINR Full SM mode CSMHybrid Diversity and SM Mode CSM

Advantage of Proposed UL MIMO  Pros Support Close Loop SU-MIMO for Localized RB; Unitary codebook based precoding for SU-MIMO Precoding matrix V of MS comes from an unitary codebook C Unitary codebook based precoding for SU-MIMO CSM Precoding matrix V1 of MS1 comes from an unitary codebook C Precoding matrix V2 of MS2 comes from an unitary codebook C Precoding matrix of the overall UL at the BS can be expressed by  Pros Support Multi-Mode codebook; Codebook size for SU-MIMO is N Codebook size for overall system of SU-MIMO CSM is N 2 SU-MIMO uses lager size codebook. SU-MIMO CSM uses smaller one

Text Recommendations for SDD Section 11 Physical Layer Section 11.x UL MIMO structure – UL MIMO has following characteristics Support 2 Tx antennas at MS side Support CL-SU MIMO for localized RB allocation for UL MIMO Hybrid SU-MIMO and MU-MIMO CSM for 4 Rx antennas at BS side oEach MS work in SU-MIMO with 2 Tx antenna oThe whole UL is in CSM(MU-MIMO) by pairing 2 MS together with 4 Rx antennas at the BS Support hybrid diversity mode and SM mode for CSM oThe MS with lower SINR work in diversity SU-MIMO mode oThe MS with higher SINR work in SM SU-MIMO Mode Support multiple codebook for CL-MIMO MS in CSM oSU-MIMO can use larger size codebook oSU-MIMO CSM should use small size codebook 7
