Reading (5 th period only) Must in seat and quiet before I close the door, otherwise you are considered late to class During this 15 minute period you may: – read –work silently on homework (not in a group) –Work silently on your newspaper assignment There will be many days I have work that needs to be completed during this time. – Anyone who does not follow the rules will be explain why they can not to Mr. Hocking, Mrs. Bennett or the Dean

Newspaper assignment Reading the newspaper over a 2 week period, you must find 8 connections between what you read and what we are working on in class Relates to… Velocity Acceleration Friction Air resistance…

Newspaper assignment, Part 2 Every 2 weeks, a sheet turned in to me with the following information: –Your Name –Title of article, picture plus author’s name –Physical Science topic that is connected to the picture –1-2 sentence describing the connection Ex: The runner changed his velocity from the start of the race. That is an example of acceleration.

Grade value of Newspaper assignment Each valid, completed entry is worth a point Bonus point for an unusual, unique example (determined by Mr. Baker) Failure to complete assignment will be treated as if you miss any other graded assignment
