Booster Club Forsyth County does NOT fund Athletics. - They do pay for any state transportation. We are responsible for but not limited to… Uniforms – parkas, suits, caps, etc… Transportation - $1.75 per mile and bus driver is $15 per hour Hotels, food, and meet fees Pool usage and meet entries Athlete Fee(s) $625 per swimmer If you have a sibling the second or additional fee is half

Team Policies & Procedures Meet Participation - Swim Meets are MANDATORY! Missed meets: Must be communicated directly to Coach Tillery a minimum of two weeks prior Multiple missed meets can effect lettering for the season. Swimming is a TEAM Sport! Meet participation means you stay until the end. Do not plan on leaving prior to the end of a meet. If you aren’t swimming you should be supporting your teammates who are. Team Policies & Procedures

Practice Attendance Swimmers are expected to be in the pool practicing every day. 6:15AM – 7:45AM at SWAT (Swim Atlanta) Midway Location Athletes should ready to enter the water at 6:10AM. If you need extra time to get ready - arrive early. SWAT will open before 6am daily. Practice will end anywhere from 7:35am-7:45am each day. Showers available at SWAT or WFHS locker rooms. Lettering Policy Qualify for the State Meet! Qualified 32 swimmers for State Meet last year! Meet lettering qualifying times! Meet distance totals of 3000 Yards for Individual Events Any senior in good standing! Coaches Discretion All qualifications are subject to athletes being in good standing with the school and team! Seniors will be allowed to purchase their parkas for $80!

Paperwork! Eligibility Must be passing five of seven classes! Move-ins fill out Form “B” Semester Check Grades checked as of Jan. 1 st for eligibility! Must be pass 5 of 7 to stay eligible. Physicals Forms must be on file & cleared before practice. Physical, driving waiver, & concussion form complete. Turn in forms to Mrs. Jordan counseling office Get clearance form to give to Coach Tillery.

Attendance Timeliness On time isn’t arrival time; on time is ready to get in water. Five minutes early is on time and on time is late! Last year was much improved from previous year. Attendance MANDATORY! Missed practice the week of a meet will result in missed events at meet. More inclined to sit swimmers from individual events rather than relays. Missing two days due to sickness means an athlete may not be physically ready to perform. Want/need healthy swimmers trying to push through and swimming sick is not a good thing! Stay Healthy so you can swim.

Attendance cont. This is West Forsyth High School Swim Look like a team! Act like a team! Year round swimmers aren’t any better or worse, than those who swim the HS season only, or vice versa! Anything to the contrary whether in actions or in words will not be tolerated. Wear WEST! No club gear/logo’s allowed on team trips or meets.

Other Items Parents Volunteering Online sign-up We co-host two meets. Helping with food at meets! Show up to meets and cheering in West colors! Ensure your athletes get good rest Help ensure your athletes get good nutrition. Help ensure your athletes have a positive attitude!

Other Items cont. Spirit Wear Information will be available soon via our website and twitter! A link will be posted to our website via All-American Swim State will be an overnight trip! There will not be a return bus after prelims and athletes are expected to stay for finals. If you qualify for State this is a requirement. Warm-ups for both days start at approx. 4:30pm Competition for both days begins at approx. 6:00pm

Other Items cont. Stretching Conflicting views on Stretching - Not done as a team before practice or meets. If your swimmer(s) wants/needs to stretch they can plan on doing it on their own. Performance may not start where they left off last year. Hydration and Nutrition are very IMPORTANT! Don’t expect PR (Personal Record) every week Want best performances at State Meet! Shaving Hundredths of a second count in swimming – shaving helps Not mandatory
