Day 01 – Origin Country/PORTUGAL (LISBOA) Arrival at Lisbon Airport. Transfer from Lisbon Airport to a Hotel in Lisbon. Accommodation at Lisbon. Day 02 – LISBOA/SINTRA In the morning Half-day Lisbon, starting with a panoramic of the main streets and squares of the city, a walking tour throughout one of the oldest quarters of Lisbon (Alfama), ending with the visit of Lisbon Synagogue. Lunch will be free. After lunch we will visit Sintra, Cascais and Estoril. Accommodation at Lisbon. Day 03 – LISBON/ÓBIDOS/TOMAR/CASTELO DE VIDE Today we will head to the North of the country and the first town on our way is Óbidos. This medieval town still preserves the atmosphere of the centuries that passed by it. Afterwards we continue to Tomar, to visit one of the most important Synagogues of Portugal and it’s museum. After this visit we will follow to Castelo de Vide. Accommodation at Castelo de Vide. DAY 4 – CASTELO DE VIDE/BELMONTE/GUARDA In the morning visit of Castelo de Vide, walking tour through the historic centre, former Jewish quarter. We will follow to Belmont, one of the best places in Portugal to understand the secrets and mysteries of a Jewish community that had to live in secret for centuries. Visit of the Synagogue and the Jewish Museum. We will still have time to visit Guarda, the highest city in Portugal where we’ll visit the Historic Centre, the Jewish Quarter and the Cruciform Marks. Accommodation at Belmonte. DAY 5 – BELMONTE/TRANCOSO/PORTO We will depart in the morning to the city of Trancoso, where we’ll visit the Castle, the Historic Centre, the Jewish Quarter and the Jewish Center Isaac Cardoso, with a synagogue. After free time for lunch we depart to Porto. After a panoramic tour, the rest of the day will be free. Accommodation at Porto. DAY 6 – PORTO In the morning we’ll visit the historical Centre, the Cathedral, Clerigos Tower and the Mekor Haim Synagogue. We will then have time to enjoy a 50 minute mini-cruise in the Douro river. Our half-day tour will end with a visit (including wine tasting) of a Porto Wine cellar. Accommodation at Porto. DAY 7 – PORTO/COIMBRA/LISBON We will depart in the morning to the south of Portugal. Our first stop will be in Coimbra, where we will visit the main buildings of Portugal’s oldest university, the library, the chapel and senate room. Afterwards we will walk along the old streets (old Jewish quarters) to visit the cathedral. Proceed to Lisbon after lunch. Accommodation at Lisbon. DAY 8 – LISBON/Origin Country Free morning.
