4. Technology 2: Capture methane gas and use it for energy Methane is a very harmful greenhouse gas. One pound of methane traps 25 times more heat in the atmosphere than a pound of carbon dioxide. It also can be used for energy. What if we could use it for energy AND stop it from being released?? *Trash/manure breaks down and creates methane *The methane is captured *Methane is used to create energy

5. Technology 3: Capture carbon dioxide and store it We produce A LOT of carbon dioxide. What is we could stop it from reaching the atmosphere? *Carbon dioxide is produced and captured *It is sent in pipes underground to a safe holding place *It is them pumped really far below the Earth’s surface (up to half a mile) *The site is monitored to make sure there are no leaks.
