Pre-AP 12-3 Today you will need: to turn in the nomenclature homework and pick up the review, a clean piece of blank paper, and formula fun sheet from the side table. Please take out the polyatomic ion/d-block chart AND a periodic table. You will play a quick game to review writing/naming ionic compounds with a partner. After the “game”, we will review this ionic and covalent unit by performing a gallery walk with review questions. You will take the multiple choice portion of the test TOMORROW. The free response questions will be given to you on Monday. You will receive a review after the two planned activities.
2
QUICK NAMING CHECK: 1. Name the following: – Fe 3 N 2 – LiNO 3 – Na 2 S – Al 2 (SO 3 ) 3 2.Write the formula: – Magnesium chloride – Copper (II) nitride – Calcium hydroxide
3
Formula Fun Pick ONE partner to play the game with You will take turns rolling the die to determine which cation and anion you will bond together Once you roll, you will write the formula AND the name of the ionic compound that correlates to the die (the formula fun wheel is numbered for cation and anion) You will play this game for 25 minutes and then we will move on to the gallery walk.
4
Gallery Walk Review~Bonding 1. Title a blank piece of paper: Bonding Review 2. Number your paper 1-22 3. Go around the room and answer the questions about bonding. It does not matter which question you begin with. 4. When finished, please have a seat, you will be given 30 minutes.

Pre-AP 12-4 Please have a seat so I can take roll. Nothing to pick up or turn in today. If someone wants to lead good things, go for it. You will have 25 minutes to finish the gallery walk (after good things) from yesterday and then we will review as a class Your test will be on Monday. Please study your review over the weekend. It is your last summative grade for this semester. Review is your homework for the weekend and you will turn it in Monday before the test FOR A GRADE.
