In Singapore: Affiliation to the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Association in Singapore is the NYAA (National Youth Achievement Award) Tanglin became an operating authority for NYAA in 2003/2004

Duke of Edinburgh Award “Since we began in 1956, our aim has been to help young people to plan and undertake their own programme of activities to develop mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.” From the Duke of Edinburgh’s Mission Statement

Levels of the Award and Minimum Age Requirements Bronze (14+) – 6 months minimum Silver (15+) – 12 months minimum Gold (16+) – 18 months minimum There is no “expiry”. Participants have until the age of 25 to complete any section, but……

Meeting Deadlines We will be providing support for you to achieve the award, but in order to qualify through school, YOU are responsible for meeting the deadlines and choosing and engaging with your activities. We will not chase you!

Registering with NYAA The link to the application form will be emailed to you and this MUST be returned by the end of week 8 Enrolment form + $7 cheque In September you will receive your: Award Diary Award Record Book

If you know what activities you would like to do, please enter them on the form but you these may change when you sign up for CAS activities in September. Otherwise enter “tba”

Support and Queries If you have any concerns or questions, we expect YOU (and not your parents) to contact the appropriate member of the NYAA team and we will do our best to support you and guide you in the right direction Remember that this is about YOU developing YOUR independence and responsibility
