Main Idea I, Too, Sing America, by Langston Hughes is about black pride, and how some day Hughes thinks that blacks and whites will be equal.

Point of View Hughes, who was greatly influenced by the Harlem Renaissance, was trying to promote black pride and tell the black youth to be proud of their race.

Inferences/Outside Information Written during the Harlem Renaissance. Hughes was greatly influenced by jazz music. Marcus Garvey led a movement in the 1920’s to promote black pride. United Negro Improvement Association founded by Marcus Garvey. 1907 the NAACP was founded.
