3
Guidelines We will study the systems of the human body in detail with emphasis on how these systems work chemically and physically.
4
Guidelines You will be expected to memorize anatomy but more importantly you will need be expected to have an understanding of how each part works.
5
GRADING GRADING: ALL scores will be totaled for each student.
6
Grading The student’s total will be DIVIDED by the total points POSSIBLE to determine a PERCENTAGE.

Grading Approximately 45% of the total points will come from TEST scores, and 10 % of your grade will come from a special PROJECT.
9
Grading About 30% of the total points will come from PACKETS, and about 10% of the total points will come from daily participation quizzes.
10
Grading 5% will be given for demonstration of responsibility, cooperation and the completion of assignments in areas related to lifetime skills.
11
Grading These areas include, but are not limited to, knowledge of POLICIES, cooperation in parent notifications, the return of materials, appropriate citizenship, safe behavior in the laboratory, which contribute to the education and welfare of students at BEHS.
12
Special Project A POSTER and POWER POINT presentation report will be due near the end of the trimester. Detailed instructions will be given later.
13
Packets Each unit should include a packet which will need to be neat and ORGANIZED.
14
PACKETS The packet will contain handouts, notes, assignments, labs, etc. which will be STAMPED the day we do them in class for FULL credit.

18
Daily Quiz Quiz PAPERS will be put away at the TARDY bell.
19

Daily Quiz There is no other EXTRA credit.
21
Attendance 1. Students are expected to be in class EACH school day.
22
Attendance 2. For each day a student has missed class, educational opportunities have been LOST that may require the make-up of work, time or both.
23
Attendance A student should CONTACT the teacher to receive make up instructions.
24
Attendance Even if make-up work, and time have been completed, it can not EQUAL the experiences, discussions, and group interactions occurring in the classroom and being in attendance each day provides.
25
Attendance TARDIES (1-6) will affect your CITIZENSHIP according to school policy and CANNOT be made up or CHANGED*.
26
Attendance 0-1 tardies COULD earn Honors (H). 2-3 tardies COULD earn Satisfactory (S). 4-5 tardies COULD earn Needs Improvement (N). 6 or more tardies WILL earn Unsatisfactory (U).
27
Attendance A 2% bonus will be given to those students with no TARDIES and H or S citizenship.
28
Attendance Each student may use the 3 pass three times during the trimester.
29
Attendance Any unused hall passes will receive 10 extra points each to be added to the final notebook.
30
Attendance All make-up WORK is the responsibility of the STUDENTS.
31
Attendance Make sure your WORK is to class on the DAY it is to be CORRECTED.
32
Attendance You may SEND it with a classmate or GIVE it to the instructor early.
33
Attendance Work not present at the beginning of the period on the day it is to be corrected will receive a 10% per day reduction for days 1 through 5 and a 50% reduction until day 10.
34
Attendance A test taken BEFORE or on the class test date will be for FULL credit.
35
Attendance A test taken AFTER the class test date will be multiplied by a factor of.8.
36
Attendance A MISSED test must be taken within 10 days. After that time, it becomes a zero.
37
Attendance Laboratory work may be made up by one of the following ways:
38
a. The missed work may be COPIED from lab partners for HALF credit on the laboratory.
39
B. Laboratory work may be done before or after school the SAME day or next morning by ARRANGEMENT with the instructor.
40
C. MAKE-UP assignments given by the instructor
41
Policies and Procedures 10. No FOOD or DRINK is allowed in the classroom. Any opened food or drink will be confiscated and thrown away. (WATER OKAY)
42
11. DISRESPECT for the teacher or STUDENTS will not be tolerated.
43
12. No cellular phones, pagers, or calculator games are permitted in Chemistry. Cell phone usage etc will result in an citizenship grade of “U”
44
13. In Physiology, all student work is labeled with a student NUMBER.
45
Students will correct the work of other students. Every effort will be made to protect the confidential nature of a student's scores and posted grades/attendance.
46
This practice allows the students to review assignments and tests and consider problem solving that may be different than their own.
47
It also allows the teacher to give and review assignments and use correcting time as effectively as possible.
48
A BEHS Physiology home page, with makeup assignments, practice tests, etc., is soon to be available on the internet using the URL :
