4 CCRS

5 Transferable Knowledge and Skills

6 College and Career Ready Standards
Reason abstractly and quantitatively Communicate reasoning about concepts Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others Engage with complex texts Use evidence to inform, argue, analyze Obtain, evaluate and communicate information

7 Changes in Practice

Students actually DO the learning

11 From: Traditional Lesson Paradigm (NCTM,2014 )
Review Demonstration Practice

13 Three Domains of Competence: Supporting Learning

14 Three Domains of Competence (NRC, 2012)
Cognitive Responsibility Decision-making Analysis Negotiation Self-Presentation Adaptive Learning Critical Thinking Leadership Conflict Resolution Reasoning/argumentation Executive Function Collaboration Interpersonal Problem Solving Communication Assertive Communication Information and communications technology literacy Social Influences With Others Active Learning Interpretation Self-Direction Cooperation Innovation Responsibility Grit To deconstruct the definition of deeper learning further, the researchers came up with what they call three domains of competence: cognitive, intrapersonal and interpersonal. Cognitive refers to reasoning and problem solving; intrapersonal refers to self-management, self-directedness, and conscientiousness; and interpersonal refers to expressing ideas and communicating and working with others. Creativity Flexibility Teamwork Self-Evaluation Integrity Adaptability Intrapersonal Metacognition Perseverance Self-monitoring Imitative Productivity Citizenship Appreciation for Diversity Career Orientation Continuous Learning
