Do you have at least 100 credits? Do your credits add up? Have all of your summer school classes posted? Are you in need of a credit recovery plan in order to graduate on time? If you have taken classes out of the country, make sure you make an appointment to talk with your counselor! 5

Seventh Period Health Mostly independent study Students can take 1 class per semester (when offered) On-line but face-to-face meetings with on-site teacher are required On Campus Independent Study (does not meet a-g) Students can take 1 class per quarter (when offered) On-line but face-to-face meetings with on-site teacher are required Language Arts, World History/US History, Psychology Night School (does not meet a-g) 1 class per quarter, seat time is required 2-3 hours per day 2-3 times a week 6

Centralized Odyssey (meets a-g) Mostly independent study 1 class per semester On-line but 4 face-to-face meetings with instructor (may be on-site or off-site) are required Summer School (most classes meet a-g) Trying to fix a D or an F Have an impacted schedule (AVID, IB, Sports, etc.) 2 classes per summer Classes are not guaranteed Counselor will give you paperwork in the spring Lee V. Offers hundreds of instructional programs Provides a wide variety of student support services Have partnerships with UC and CSU for smooth transferring after general education is completed 8

If you didn’t get accepted into the university (or universities) you applied to OR are not satisfied with the 4-year college originally selected Don’t plan of taking an admission exam (SAT/ACT) If you are not eligible for university admission Didn’t meet minimum GPA Didn’t meet a-g requirements Didn’t meet required SAT/ACT scores If you perform better in smaller class sizes If you are undecided about academic/career goals If you aren’t ready/able to leave home 9

For example: DeVry, ITT Tech, Le Cordon Bleu, FIDM, UEI, The Art Institute of California, Kaplan University, and many more Examples include study in the areas of: cosmetology, fashion, culinary arts, automotive repair, computer technology, training for medical technicians, etc. Focus on providing graduates with marketable skills Provide hands-on training Offer flexibility with regards to pace Some may offer assistance with job placement After graduating from such a school, an individual will be able to immediately enter the job market 11

California College Guidance Initiative Step 1 Sign in (your account has already been created for you). Account name: cnusd###### (cnusd + your ID #) Example: cnusd123456 Password: MMDDYYYY (your birthday) Example: If your birthday is 5/7/98, you enter 05071998 Step 2 You will be asked to reset your password. Change your password to First Name Initial + Last Name Initial + Student ID number (i.e. FL123456) Step 3 You will be asked to create a security question. Select one of these two questions: In what city were you born? What is the name of your hometown? Answer the remaining questions on the page, agree to the terms and conditions and click on “continue.” You may now begin your first activity and your Plan of Study 19

Step 1 Click on the tab called “High School Planning” Step 2 Click on the box called “Your Plan of Study” Step 3 Click on “Create another course plan” Step 4 Click on “Create a plan of study from scratch” Step 5 Click on “Show all defined requirements” Step 6 You will be asked whether you wish to follow CSU Minimum Eligibility Requirements or UC Eligibility Requirements. Decide which path you wish to follow and click “ Choose this set ” on the far right column. The next screen will show the Plan of Study. You may add classes to begin planning for the A-G requirements. The A-G requirements are the classes you will need to take to be college- eligible. 20
