Working in Partnership – What we expect of you 1) Working in partnership – We want to work with you in providing a rewarding learning experience. Our approach to teaching and learning is trust based - we rely on your commitment to make a success of the learning opportunities we provide. 2) Attendance – We insist on good attendance. We actively monitor attendance and will take action in a case of poor attendance 3) Punctuality – All classes start promptly at 9.00am. Students arriving later than 10.00am will not be allowed entry until the afternoon session and will only be accorded half a day’s attendance. 4) Respect – We do not expect or accept any forms of abuse directed to any members of staff. 5) Use of native language - We are committed to developing your English language skills, because of this we insist that only English is spoken at the Academy.

6) Managing examination registration: We expect you to be proactive in planning and managing your examination registrations. We will support you in making sensible decisions as to when to register and will also make sure you are clear on the deadline in registering for each exam series. 7) Managing communication with Teachers. To ensure that teaching is not disrupted We would like you to talk through any academic issues you have between 4.30pm to 5.30pm each day. We would also like to highlight our new tutorial system, you have the opportunity to speak to Head of Business on Wednesday afternoons, by booking an appointment through Reception. 8) The basics! It goes without saying that mobile phones must be turned off during class. We would also ask you to refrain from eating in class, although cold drinks are acceptable. 1) We will ensure you have all the information you need to succeed in your chosen programme. a)All lesson plans for each term will be available on the Online Academy to support you effectively planning your study. b)We will clearly highlight resources and recommended reading for each module of learning you undertake. c)We will put up lesson notes after lessons on the Online Academy d)We will give you the guidance needed to effectively manage your examination registrations and any resits required. 2) We will continually review our own teaching performance to ensure you are being given a good learning experience. 3)If you have any academic issues or problems your teachers will deal with these professionally and quickly. 4)We will not accept any instances of malpractice and if you suspect any wrongdoing contact the emergency number which is on posters around the Academy. 5)We will run progress tests to support you in assessing your development and preparing for examinations. 6)All assignments now need to be submitted to the Administration Officer by an agreed deadline. We will ensure assignments are sent promptly to the relevant awarding organisation. 7) We will provide additional support where you need it. a)We are running a study skills programme which is designed to improve your essay writing, examination technique and general study skills. b)If you have struggled in a particular module, we can offer extra classes to improve your knowledge and understanding. Important note to students. We would like all students to book a tutorial with Head of department on Wednesday afternoon, to talk through how you are planning your revision and managing any resits you have to do.
