HW: Read the Shakespearean sonnet and complete TPCASTT on a separate sheet of paper. Catch up on any other poems you haven’t turned in. Announcements Project round up! If your group leader doesn’t get the grade back, your group hasn’t received a grade due to missing items. This mean you have 3 0s in the gradebook. 2A- Make sure I give you back your evaluation sheets so you can get a grade! Book reports due Dec. 5 th Put names of books you’ve read this semester on the slips in the back of the room on the book shelf. Top class gets pizza party!

What is the effect of his repetition of “Today” and “Tomorrow” What is a theme you see in both poems? DICTION ACTIVITY (7 MINUTES) Turn to the diction page in your Poetry Packet Then, with a partner, circle all the words that stand out to you in the poem “Tomorrow” Look at the list of Diction words I gave you and pick 2 that you think would describe Tupac’s diction in this poem.

INDEPENDENT PRACTICE Write a body paragraph that describes your observations about how Tupac’s diction affected the tone. Be sure to use lines from the poem to support your ideas In his poem, “ ______________________,” Tupac used _____________diction to support/create his ___________tone.
