NASTF Mission The National Automotive Service Task Force will facilitate the identification and correction of gaps in the availability and accessibility of automotive service information, training, diagnostic tools and equipment to automotive service professionals. 2

Service Information Request Automated on-line system Can be used by anyone who feels information is being withheld Request is filtered for validity – sent to the OEM for resolution If not resolved, issue goes to committee Committee is made up 3 aftermarket, 3 OEM and 1 tie-breaker If not resolved, issue can go to binding arbitration

Vehicle Security Secure Data Release Model (SDRM) Originally designed to provide electronic key codes for Locksmiths. Vehicle Security Professionals or VSPs. Pay a fee, submit to a background check, become bonded and secure an LSID # Once LSID is secure, they can use the SDRM

Other Uses for SDRM Theft Related Parts Currently used with Mercedes Benz only, but could expand Module initialization and immobilizer codes Will cause exponential growth in the size and scope of the SDRM

What's next NASTF hired a new full time Executive Director about 10 months ago. SDRM success is creating revenue that will allow NASTF to change its funding model. NASTF was founded to identify information gaps and fill them and this will never change, but now we have discovered that NASTF is a great problem solving organization. Follow our progress and bring us your problems.
