Sensor AD22103 Temperature Sensor Specifications & Features: –Ideal 3.3V operating voltage –Temperature coefficient of 22mv/ ˚C –Output voltage proportional to the Temp x Vs –Ranges from 0˚ to 100˚C at 0.25V – 3.05V

WHY????? AD22103 chosen because: Output given as an analog voltage as opposed to serial voltage or analog current. The Package Type, TO-92, was easy to connect because of pin spacing. An alternative, SOIC, was not used because of the small structure which would require a separate board to mount it on. Voltage input and output are ideal for the MSP430 because of similar operating voltage ranges.

Problems Incompatibility with Windows XP operating system and flash emulation device. The parallel port is not activated by windows until it needs to be used. The inaccuracy of the sensor’s output rises above the rated error of.1% at 3.3V because the operating voltage on the sensor is 2.86V.
