What was Camelot? Camelot was the great castle of King Arthur. Camelot was the seat of power in Britain, where inside a council was established. Arthur and his knights who presided over the council were called Knights of the Round Table. Camelot symbolized the Golden Age of Chivalry.

Theme Write a one sentence summary summarizing the theme within “The Lady of Shalott.” How is this like“I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” and “The Peace of Wild Things?” How is it different?

Other Symbolism The island – isolation and loneliness “remote Shalott” (81). The mirror – isolation The lady sees the world, but she cannot interact with it. “Shadows of the world appear” (48).
