The First Exam : When a pregnancy is confirmed, the following procedures include. Blood pressure is checked regularly during pregnancy. Check of the, pulse, respiration and weight. Discuss medical history and existing medical conditions. Ex: high blood pressure Measure of the pelvis, analysis of her urine, and blood tests. Anemia: a condition that results from not having enough red blood cells.

Nutrients a Body Needs Vital to babies growth and development of bones and teeth. Meat Fish Dried Beans Cheese Milk Ensures proper eye development Assists in general fetal development Aids in the creation of bones & teeth Helps build healthy teeth and gums Vitamin A Vitamin B Vitamin C Vitamin D Iron Calcium Phosphorous Provides body with energy and perform many other important functions Fruits Potatoes Whole grain Breads & Cereals Help produce strong bones and teeth and insure regular elimination of waste from body Protein Vitamins Minerals Carbs&Fats

5 servings of fruits and veggies daily. 3 - 4 servings of protein daily. 6 –11 servings of whole grains daily 6 –11 servings of whole grains daily Oranges and leafy green veggies. 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. About 300 extra calories per day. Needs:
