4. Note-taking Requires You To: Listen or read, think, react, question, summarize, organize, label and write. Use your own words. Decide on what information is important. Capture the main ideas and important facts. Condense information. Draw maps; make lists, draw diagrams, charts or illustrations

5. Helpful Hints Ask: can I relate the information to my life? Develop a method that works for you when taking reading notes and lecture notes. Leave room on your paper for new information and corrections. Label notes with course, date and topic. Take time to learn and perfect your note-taking method. Use your notes to study and/or complete assignments.
