Who are the Friends of Scouting (FOSE) in Europe? Over 400 individuals, throughout the world, who have made a financial commitment to the growth of Scouting in central and eastern Europe – where the Movement was banned for 50 years A programme managed under the auspices of the European Scout Foundation Funding individual projects submitted by National Scout Organizations from central and eastern Europe Playing a major role in providing capital for an investment fund for the long term development and growth of Scouting in central and eastern Europe

Small projects supported by FOSE A Scout project is one which is: Challenging Rewarding Useful

FOSE-supported projects will: Be collective enterprises involving a team working together, with commitment by all to personal effort Have a clear plan, based on young people’s needs and interests, with good preparation and implementation and effective ways of evaluating progress Make full use of the Scout method incorporating a variety of learning opportunities Enable young people to make choices as to the ways in which they will contribute to and celebrate the project’s success

Real projects, real Scouts - Romania Help in finding sustainable support for Scouting in a rural area, in the areas of resources and management The aim is to add to existing local government and other support by developing a plan and approaching suitable prospects €1,500

Real projects, real Scouts - Lithuania Improve quality and safety of sailing activities in Scouting Repair existing sailing equipment Train three new sailing instructors Train 60 young people in basic sailing Promote Sea Scouting and sailing amongst adults and young people €2,880

Real projects, real Scouts - Croatia Mobile interactive multimedia school Scout exhibition for primary schools a combination of traditional Scouting and new technology. The exhibition should be offered to primary schools, in direct talks with directors. €1,500

How do Friends keep in touch? Friends of Scouting in Europe are all invited to an annual gathering: an opportunity to meet other members, to learn and to enjoy the hospitality of a European Scout association, and to see the sights of their country Receptions and meetings, often at European or World Scouting events There are regular mailings to Friends Our web site: http://europeanscoutfoundation.org/fose/

You can choose between annual or life payments Pay by cheque, bank transfer or by PayPal on the web site Annual payment: €150 Life payment: €2,000 Contacts in some countries (Super Friends) Recognition at a FOSE meeting (certificate and pin)
