●The Math Little Books are NOT intended for Guided Reading ●They are not supplied in 6 packs (guided reading packs) ●The intention is that teachers will scaffold the initial reading to support understanding of text and concepts ●Students will then be able to work with the books and associated activities in small groups or independently ●Books are written to be accessible, at or below grade. At K, as students learn to read, some students will need support. ●Every book is accompanied by access to audio to ensure student understanding. The books will not be levelled. (The TR will include broad-band levels plus levelling notes. Books colour-coded to grade). Pearson Math 14 Mathology Little Books Are they levelled?
15
Mathology Little Books Learning Progression How are the Little Books organized around a Learning Progression? ●The Learning Progression is divided into Big Ideas, Concept Threads and Indicators showing illustrating how children typically develop math thinking ●Little Books are aligned to these concepts in the progression ● There are titles for key concepts at different levels along the progression ● Teachers will build their understanding of how math content progresses and help them know their students better Pearson Math 15
