2
One day, when the mouse was collecting food for the winter, the buffalo came to eat in the meadow.
3
The mouse did not like this.
The mouse knew that the buffalo would eat all the long grass, and there would be no place for him to hide. He decided to offer a challenge.
4
Hi, Buffalo, I challenge you to a fight!
5
Hahaha. Silly mouse.
6
Hahaha you can’t do it.
7
Be quiet, or I will step on you!
You’re scared!
8
Be quiet. I’m getting angry
Be quiet! I’m getting angry. If you speak to me again, I will step on you! I dare you to do it!
9
The buffalo stomped his hoofs.
He looked for the mouse, but he could not see him anywhere.
10
Ha! I told you I would step on you.
Just then, the buffalo felt a scratching inside his right ear. He shook his head and twitched his ears. The scratching went deeper into his ear until the buffalo felt pain.
11
and then in circles Bellowing loudly, he ran really fast,
first straight forward… and then in circles but at last he stopped, and stood still.
12
Will you go, now that I am master?
Then the mouse jumped out of the buffalo’s ear. Will you go, now that I am master?
13
NO! I will step on you again!
In a minute, the buffalo felt the mouse in his other ear. NO! I will step on you again!
14
Again, he became wild with pain, and ran and jumped all over the meadow.
15
At last, he fell to the ground and lay still.
The mouse came out of his ear, and stood on the dead body.
16
I have killed the buffalo. This will show everyone that I am master
I have killed the buffalo! This will show everyone that I am master! Bring me a knife!
17
In another part of the meadow, a hungry red fox was hunting mice.
He saw one and jumped on it, but it got away. He was disappointed.
18
Then the red fox heard: "Bring a knife! Bring a knife ! " The red fox started running in that direction.
19
Thank you, my friend, I will be glad to do this for you.
The red fox found the huge body of the buffalo lying on the ground. The little mouse stood on top of the body. Thank you, my friend, I will be glad to do this for you. I want you to cut up this buffalo, and I will give you some meat.
20
You must cut the meat into small pieces.
The fox cut up the buffalo, while the mouse sat and gave orders. You must cut the meat into small pieces. When the fox finished, the mouse paid him with a small piece of liver. The fox ate it quickly.
21
Please may I have some more?
So the poor Fox took the blood clots and licked off the grass. He was really very hungry. Please may I have some more? I gave you a big piece! How greedy you are! You may have some of the blood clots.
22
Please may I take home some meat? I have six hungry little cubs.
I have already overpaid you for the little work you have done. However, you can take the four feet of the buffalo. That should be enough for all of you. Please may I take home some meat? I have six hungry little cubs.
23
Just then, the fox quickly jumped on the selfish mouse, who squeaked loudly in pain, and died.
24
If you are proud and selfish, you will lose all in the end.
