4. U.S. Army Tracking approximately 108 CLEOS. The Army is developing a FLETC equivalent CLEO Basic Academy Ft Carson is working a Basic and Advanced course for CLEOs. This is to fulfill the 40 hour refresher requirement

5. U.S. Air Force * Tracking approximately 24 CLEOs, half civil service and half military Front Range Bases (Buckley AFB, Cheyenne Mountain AS, F.E. Warren AFB Peterson AFB, Schriever AFB, and USAF Academy) contracted a CLEP vulnerability study with Colorado State University, Ms Shauer. ** The study identified some definite needs among the above listed installations. However, her research defined many areas or topics that may apply or of interest USAF wide. I have forwarded this study to our USAF SME for his information and possible further discussion.

6. U.S. Air Force Continued * Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA), The U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, and USAF Security Forces have established procedures to implement this act. The U.S. Navy at this time is unknown. However, CLEOs within the Air Force are still awaiting guidance since job series are primarily investigator series and not covered in Security Forces AFIs (regulations) There is precedence being established at JBER to have CLEOs handle stray or lose domestic animals. This is contrary to DODI and AFI, when Pest Management AFI mandates that section to accomplish this. There is a degradation of mission with this proposal, referring to SIKES Act, DoDI, and AFI mandates.
