1 Moodle Badges Introducing Moodle Badges Reward your students with badges for completing activities on Moodle Moodle Badges

2 Before we start We need to Turn completion tracking on Go to your course and then… Administration block > Edit Settings > Completion Tracking > Enable Completion Tracking = Yes Moodle Badges To watch video tutorial hover over image

3 Activity/Resource conditions Add your resource / activity Turn editing on Drag and drop your resource to Moodle or click add an activity or resource and find the activity you want to add Moodle Badges 1 2 3 4 5

4 Activity/Resource conditions: (continued) Under the settings for the activity/resource you just added, there will be an option for activity completion. Change the settings for this as required – here's an example for a URL Moodle Badges 1 2 3 4 5

5 Adding a Moodle Badge: Under the administration block, go to Badges > Add a New Badge Next give your badge a title/description and then add your image for your badge (180px by 180px image works best, we can help you create Moodle badges) You can set an expiry date if you wish, then click Create Badge You will then be taken to the criteria for the badge – Choose Activity Completion from the drop down menu and then select the activity/resource you just created Moodle Badges 3 4 5 2 1

6 Message to send to user: Under the message tab, we can change the message we want to send to students once they earn the badge. Click the message tab Change details as required You can be notified when someone has earned the badge Moodle Badges 4 5 3 1 2

7 Enabling a Moodle Badge Once you are happy with your Moodle Badge You can then enable the badge to be earned by students Ensure your criteria is set correctly as once a badge is enabled and earned by students the badge becomes locked and cannot be edited Click Enable access at the top Moodle Badges 5 4 1 2 3

8 Badge completed Students can now start earning the badge All Moodle Badges earned are visible in a students profile Under the Administration Block > Manage Badges You can view all the badges you have made and how many recipients have got them This helps you pick out who is completing the activities and who is not Moodle Badges 5 1 2 3 4
