5 MCC | MCCQE Part I International What is the MCCQE Part I International? ◦Transforms the current MCCQE Part I ◦Provides IMGs with opportunity to directly access cortical components of the assessment process prior to their arrival in Canada ◦Involves significant back-end changes to support -a more flexible and widely accessible delivery, and -tools for candidates to better prepare them to challenge the exam

6 MCC | Expected changes ◦MCC EE will no longer be a prerequisite for licensing ◦Delivered by vendor in all provinces with a medical program, in Canadian cities, and in 80+ other countries. The exam will be administered -twice in Canada during 2018 -internationally, five (5) times annually as of 2019 MCCQE Part I International

11 MCC | The F/P/T Committee on Health Workforce (CHW) requested standards development for Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. Goals ◦Develop pan-Canadian standards and competencies to assess the readiness of international medical graduates wishing to have provisional licensure in Canada ◦Develop common assessment tools, orientation resources and assessor training modules for use by all provincial/territorial PRA programs ◦Conduct research and evaluations to inform standards, processes and effective decision-making NAC PRA – Background
