5 Domino’s Pizza, Inc. is the number one pizza delivery company in the United States, based on reported consumer spending, and the second largest pizza company in the world, based on number of units. On average, over one million pizzas are sold each day throughout the Domino’s system, with deliveries covering approximately ten million miles per week. 7 1960  Tom Monaghan and his brother James purchase "DomiNick´s,“ a pizza store in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  Monaghan borrowed $500 to buy the store.

8 1967  The first Domino´s Pizza franchise store opens in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

9 1990  Domino’s Pizza signs its 1,000th franchise.

10 2000  Domino’s Pizza International opens its 2,000th store outside the United States.  Domino’s Pizza celebrates 40 years of delivering pizza and innovation to homes around the world.

11 2005 The Domino’s Pizza celebrates the completion of the three-year renovation of its World Resource Center.

12 2010 In March, Domino’s Pizza opens its 9,000th store worldwide, with dual celebrations in New Delhi, India.
