PROXIMA Concept Timing behaviour of CRTES on multi/manycore can be analysed with probabilistic timing analysis (PTA) techniques Time randomisation introduced on some HW and SW components A probabilistic WCET distribution rather than a single WCET estimate is provided PROXIMA will deliver: Hardware and OS-level software -Supporting time-randomisation transparently Probabilistic timning analysis techniques Integration into commercial development and verification tools Arguments to sustain certification 3 30/01/2014
4
Intuitive Results PTA allows cutting the WCET bound tail at the level of probability suited for the system (e.g. 10 -16 per hour of operation) Prob. Failure per hour = probability of failure of the program x execution rate per hour 4
5
Intuitive Results 5 (a) Time-randomized profile shifts to the right (to increase) (b) STA on deterministic arch. produces a degree of pessimism, WCET. (c) Worst-case bounds with stated confidence levels: –Execution time at which the cumulative probability (P) exceeds the required level of confidence
