2 When Georgia O’Keeffe was 12 years old she knew she wanted to be an artist. She went to art schools and even was an art teacher for awhile. Her true love, though, was to PAINT!

3 ◊Georgia O’Keeffe was born on her family’s large Wisconsin farm in 1887. ◊She would grow up to become one of America’s most famous painters.

4 Georgia studied in Chicago, New York, and Virginia. She became an art teacher in Texas

5 She sent her work to a friend in New York. Alfred Stieglitz showed her work (without her permission – what a fight that was). Georgia and Alfred married, together they became famous
