1 How do we teach music ?

2 Unfortunately not all schools in Greece have yet music teachers in placements. All schools using the funding program from the EU and just some of the schools using only the government budget are the ones that teach music. The reasons vary from misusing the existing personnel to lack of hires due to the poor economy at the moment. Hopefully in the nearby future music will be in every Greek school. On the other hand, there are public Music Schools aiming strictly to children that have already received music lessons (in conservatoires) or that are deeply interested in pursuing music either as a hobby or a profession. They require exams in music in order to accept their students. Their curriculum follows all subjects like every other school, but also focuses in various music related classes such as teaching instruments, composition, choir, orchestra, theory of music etc. Schools

3 Depending on the budget, a school unit may be fully equipped in terms of space and instruments. There are music classrooms that include television, computers, video projector, stave boards and enough space for the children to move around and play. There is also a variety of instruments that usually includes a keyboard and many percussion Orff instruments. Some teachers may include a guitar or their main instrument if they want to (e.g. Flute). Many schools, though, lack both special music classrooms and/or instruments. Equipment
