10 General Tips You must provide bags and bag your own groceries pizza.de = German Grubhub Ice cream is 70 cents Our favorite ice cream place: Café Böckler on Kaiserstraße Most bakeries have cheap snacks Definitely try regional specialties, e.g., Maultaschen and Käsespätzle Edeka is more expensive than Aldi Pfand: Get money back for recycling! 11 More General Tips Get involved! See what events the university is offering during your stay Be careful about buying souvenirs- you still have a luggage weight limit! In the dorm Dressing for Work Bring a plug adapter and transformer to charge electronics (laptops usually have a transformer built into the charger) May want to bring your own sheets and pillowcase. They are given to you by the dorm but are very warm. Nice casual May want to bring a couple business casual outfits for special occasions Definitely participate in excursions or exchanges, if they’re offered!
