2 What is the primary purpose(s) and responsibility of our committee?

3 o Analyze grade-level and school-wide data to:  monitor our students’ learning and progress  identify areas of strengths  Identify areas of improvements  objectively, reflect on current instructional initiatives, implications, and possible next directions  communicate results to staff and SBDM Our Purpose

4 o Attend data team meetings o Honestly and objectively (checking excuses at the door) analyze and reflect on data in order to o Represent your grade level Be aware of upcoming grade level assessments reminding your team Communicate deadlines to your team Collect, compile, and analyze grade level data Know what analysis forms need to be complete and make sure your team members are aware Share results with team and data team members Timely Benchmark data input, notifying coach as soon as all team members have scanned in their data o Present data to faculty and SBDM members Responsibilities

5 o When analyzing our data, What are the most essential pieces of information needed by classroom teachers, school administrators and district administrators in order to make the best instructional decisions ? Review forms, submit suggested analysis form for 2013-2014 school year Analysis Forms

6 o Data Analysis and Academic Progress Committee Charge- October Meeting Monthly review of school and district common assessments Summarize and report writing program results and goals for improvement Summarize and provide three MAP analysis reports to SBDM and faculty members, Review #1 KPREP, Summarize and report an annual comprehensive review of state assessment reporting Action Plan, Research and recommend instructional best practice ideas and innovations Charge!!!

7 MAP Work session- Guiding Questions: How does the grade level mean RIT score compare to the end-of –the year RIT score for the grade level? *Refer to Norm table What percentage of students met or exceeded the grade level mean RIT for the beginning of the year? *Refer to Norms table What percentage of students met the proficiency mark in each grade level? What percentage of students exceeded or met typical growth? Did not meet typical growth? Did not grow? Which percentile group(s) had the most and least students grow? What percentage of students have already met fall/spring cut scores in 2 nd -5 th grades? What percentage of students scores are currently aligned to achieve the grade level cut score by the end of the year? Overall, where do students’ academic performance stand at this point in the year (on target, above target, below target? What is positive about out MAP data? Concerning? Reflecting on the data overall, what instructional implications and next steps can be gleaned from the data? 2013 Fall MAP Results

9 Complete, if you haven’t already, your MAP analysis by tomorrow afternoon. Using the grade level Benchmark Datalink data, summarize your grade levels performance on the first round of common assessment(s). Have your summary completed and turned into me by 3:00 Monday. Who can attend SBDM meeting on Monday? Homework
