1 ITALIAN FOOD High School “Giulio Cesare” Savignano sul Rubicone Italy Students: Bruno Rossi, Giammarco Tosi Brandi, Aurora Campedelli

2 OUR CULINARY HABITS In Italy there are four meals in a day: breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. In Italy there are VERY DIFFERENT and PARTICULAR types of food for each region. Our region is in Northern Italy: Emilia Romagna We are here!

3 THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET THE MOTHER OF OUR KITCHEN OUR DIET IS RICH IN CEREALS, OLIVE OIL, FRUITS VEGETABLES AND FISH.

4 OUR BREAKFAST We usually drink: milk, orange juice or tea We eat: cereals, cakes, biscuits and croissants Sometimes breakfast can be salty

5 OUR LUNCH We usually eat PASTA with tomato sauce, vegetables, meat or fish. “RAGU” We love BREAD

6 OUR SNACK We usually have snack at 4:30 o’clock Snack is usually a yogurt, some fruits, a stuffed SANDWICH with ham, cheese, vegetables AND ICECREAM!

7 OUR DINNER The dinner is usually light We eat vegetables, meat or fish. In Romagna there are typical dishes for dinner: piadina and salsiccia. they are very good!

8 Romagna is rich of genuine products: ON THE HILLS we produce: Extra virgin olive OIL WINE FRUITS: APPLES,PEACHES,CHERRIES.. FRESH MILK and CHEESE Romagna is on the ADRIATIC SEA : The Adriatic Sea is rich in PESCE AZZURRO (anchovies, mackerels…) rich in omega3 During the year in our cities there are many festivals about local food THE ROMAGNA'S PRODUCTS

9 TYPICAL ROMAGNA'S FOOD Piadina Fricò (a mix of many vegetables) HOME MADE PASTA CIAMBELLA (A SOFT CAKE)

10 HOME MADE PASTA The base of this PASTA is made with a special tool: the rolling pin. The “PASTA” is of various shapes: tagliatelle, “strangle priests”, ravioli etc.

11 INGREDIENTS Water Flour Salt (oil) Cooking time: 3' One time PIADINA was the bread of poors. Today it is sold everywhere, It can be stuffed with ham,rocket, Squacquerone (a typical cheese) etc. It is very good!! TYPICAL ROMAGNA'S FOOD: PIADINA ENJOY YOUR MEAL! THANK YOU!
