My Three Amazing Children My Husband and Me Professional Background, Experience, and Personal Interests

Professional Background and Experience I have worked in the early childhood education field since 1997. When I graduated from high school, I entered college with a major in elementary education. To help pay for my expenses, I decided to get a job working with children. I loved working with young children so much that I changed my major form elementary education to early childhood education. Currently, I am employed as a part-time substitute teacher at an early learning center, but I have taken the summer off to spend time with my own children. Fortunately, I have the opportunity to work with children from as young as 6 weeks, to as old as 14 years.

Background as a K-12 Student I was one of those rare children who loved school. Since the third grade, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. It was my third grade teacher, Mrs. Andrianos, who fostered my dream of becoming a teacher. She used to give me all of the extra school worksheets and old books. She really believed in my dream!

Degree Program I am enrolled in the MAED program with a specialization in special education. I will attend the graduation ceremony in October, but I will not complete my degree until November. I hope to become a special education teacher in a school for students with special needs. I think my degree will allow me to make learning more accessible to students with special needs.

THE QUOTE THAT SYMBOLIZES MY BELIEF ABOUT EDUCATION IS: “THE MEDIOCRE TEACHER TELLS. THE GOOD TEACHER EXPLAINS. THE SUPERIOR TEACHER DEMONSTRATES. THE GREAT TEACHER INSPIRES” – RUTH GHATOUREY I LIKE THIS QUOTE BECAUSE IT REMINDS AND MOTIVATES ME TO BE BETTER. I LITERALLY WANT TO CHANGE THE LIFE OF A STUDENT, HOPEFULLY EVEN MORE. SINCE STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS OFTEN HAVE A MORE DIFFICULT TIME LEARNING THAN STUDENTS WITHOUT SPECIAL NEEDS, I WANT TO BRING THEM HOPE AND TO HELP THEM REACH THEIR FULLEST POTENTIAL. WITH THAT STATED, I NEED TO BE GREAT! One Quote
