2 TThe Gothic, an outgrowth of the Romanesque, started in France and quickly spread through all parts of western Europe. IIt flourished and lasted from the mid-12th to the end of 15th century. BBroadly speaking, the Gothic style refers to many aspects of life, such as architectrue, furniture, clothing.

3 Architecture  Gothic style found its greatest expression in architecture, especially many churches and cathedrals.  With pointed arches, arched roofs, tall thin pillars, and stained glass windows, Gothic style buildings attracted a lot of tourists.
