Topic #1:

 A good scientist must be curious, creative, skeptical and open minded to create scientific ideas.

 Practical problems are a common source of ideas…for example if you are constantly late for class what would you do?  Technology also helps in the development of new scientific ideas…which leads to new technology….which leads to new ideas…new technology…new idea….see the pattern!!!

 A network of scholarly journals allow scientists to publish their newest findings.  These journals are peer reviewed to ensure accuracy and that all steps have been taken properly.

 A theory is a well tested explanation for something that can not be completely recreated.  Example?  A law is a definite explanation for an event that can be recreated.  Example?

 Science gives society explanations and technologies.  Science tries to have no bias.  Science gives explanations without ethical or moral viewpoints.

 To use science accurately and to get the best results from it a person MUST realize that science is always changing.  Never think that the scientific facts of today will be the facts of tomorrow.  Do not memorize scientific facts but instead learn how to use the knowledge of today to further the knowledge of tomorrow.
