9  Everyday Companies Who Give Back To The Environment  BY Jessica Taylor-Cassan  http://www.aboutmyplanet.com/daily-green-tips/everyday-companies-going-2/ http://www.aboutmyplanet.com/daily-green-tips/everyday-companies-going-2/  Recently, more and more companies have been becoming green. They have been volunteering time and donating money to green causes, using green technology, and encouraging their employees to think green. I believe it’s very important for big corporations to get involved in helping the environment so I’ve compiled a list of five companies who care about environmental issues and some of the things they are doing to help. In no particular order here they are.environment  1. TD bank financial group. TD bank has contributed over $42 million to more than 16 000 environmental projects over the past 15 years. They contribute to projects and organizations that are dedicated to helping the environment all across the country. Not only do they donate money, but they donate time as well, initiating their own environmental projects, helping employees become involved, and helping to educate the public about environmental issues and how they can help. This must be why TD is the number one bank in Canada.environmental  2. S.C. Johnson has been finding sustainable sources for their products since 1935, long before sustainability was a mainstream issue. The main thing that has set this company apart from others is their green list process. The green list process is an evaluation system of the impact of raw materials on the environment and on human health. They have eliminated 1.8 million pounds of volatile organic compounds from Windex and made their saran wrap PVDC free. They are cutting their reliance on coal powered plants by building plants that rely on natural gas and methane gas pumped from nearby landfills.  3. Honda has been leading the in race of automakers trying to tackle the issues of fuel economy and emissions. As a company they have been performing dedicated research into alternative fuel sources and green technology. Their aim is to be the cleanest and most environmentally friendly vehicle manufacturer and so far they are making excellent progress. From 2000-2005 they reduced emissions from manufacturing as well as from their vehicles by 5% and have promised to drop another 5% by 2010.environmentally friendly Social Responsibility Environment
