Continuous education in Italy Credits in continuous education in medicine (since 2002): mandatory for health professionals (medical doctors, biologists and pharmacists) yearly count and 5-year cumulative accreditation national courses, conferences (e.g. AIE) DEP: internal seminars on epidemiological topics, JCs Limits: international credits are not recognised

Some points for discussion 1.Different educational needs for young epidemiologists - training experienced epidemiologists - upgrade ad hoc courses in the context of European multicenter projects Can we consider joint activities? 2.Experience and interest in knowldege exchange activities: What do we offer and what do we gain? 3.EU legislation reagrding acknowledgement of university degrees, but not on masters’ degrees, PhDs etc Promotion of an official request?
