They both are designed for important skill development in language, literacy, social studies, math, science, and art. High Scope and Creative Curriculum both clearly have defined areas of interest that are designed to require different sets of skills like art, dramatic play, science, math and block areas.

Montessori Classroom Structure They develop a variety of materials for the children to engage the five senses. Example: The letters of the alphabet made out of sandpaper which give them the opportunity to trace and feel it at the same time. Example: In math they use beads and blocks which gives children the opportunity to discover numbers through organized play.

Benefits of Montessori Education Each child is given an individualized plan for their education. Children are given choices in their own education They learn to pursue their own interests. They learn at their own pace. Children are placed in a wide age span like 3-6, 7-9, and 10-12. Lessons learned are discovered more than they are taught like: academic subjects, keeping things in order, respect each other and a opportunity to learn from and teach each other.
