Value-Added The following political and legislative variables may be addressed through the implementation of MTSS: Requirements for focus and priority schools identified by MDE Increased demands on accountability and student outcomes tied to the collection and use of student growth data Implementation of the Common Core State Standards Development, implementation and refinement of a district-wide bully- prevention program Implementation of a system of school-wide positive behavior support strategies in accordance with the policy of the State Board of Education Requirements to address significant disproportionality in discipline practices for students based on race Mechanisms to address dropout prevention and increased graduation rates
