7. 2 Turn off the inner monologue while listening to other people.

8. 3 Find out, from day 1, who has signing authority, and who the sponsor is – and meet them as soon as possible.

9. 4 Don’t go off for too long on your own.

10. 5 Don’t be afraid to ask ‘dumb’ questions. Don’t be bamboozled by jargon.

11. 6 Test assumptions as early as possible in order to mitigate risk – especially if this is something you (or your organization) is doing for the first time.
