Qualifying for benefits During the Your Occupation Period, the client is unable to perform the substantial and material duties of his/her occupation and is not working. Total Disability Residual Disability Client is not totally disabled, but solely due to an injury or sickness, is unable to work at full capacity in his/her “your occupation” or is working in another occupation, and loses at least 20% of your prior earnings.
