2 Language Arts – Warm Up 01/27/16 SIT IN YOUR PEACH GROUPS.  Complete the journals for chapters 5-7.  Remember, all journals are at least one or more paragraphs.  Your homework packet is due tomorrow!

5 Language Arts – Work Session 01/27/16 Schoolwide Writing Assessment – Tomorrow!  Write the notes in YELLOW on your notecard:  You will have one of four types of writing pieces: argumentative, persuasive, narrative, or informative.  Argumentative = arguing your perspective  Persuasive = persuading someone to believe what you believe  Narrative = You are telling a story  Informative = You are giving information

6 Language Arts – Work Session 01/27/16 Schoolwide Writing Assessment – Tomorrow!  Write the notes in YELLOW on your notecard:  You will have TWO reading passages.  You will have ONE B.C.R. (brief constructed response) and ONE essay.  Stay on topic!  Read the entire prompt and go back and read it.  Most students only write about one of the two reading passages. Be sure to include both passages in your writing!

7 Language Arts – Work Session 01/27/16 Schoolwide Writing Assessment – Tomorrow!  Write the notes in YELLOW on your notecard:  You can write inside the box ONLY.  You will be scored on the following categories:  Ideas/organization  Coherence/language usage (does it make sense/is your vocabulary used)  Conventions (grammar, punctuation, etc.)

Write my name as your E.L.A. teacher.  After the test, you will have shortened classes (30 minutes each).  Any questions?
