Using outside sources This is our first “real” essay for this class. This is not just a paragraph this is a 4 paragraph essay. You can absolutely do a great job on this prompt with the information you have from lectures, the dbq and notes from your textbook. However, if you want to use outside sources you are welcome to do so with some exceptions. YOU MUST CITE! Otherwise this is….? You must cite it in the text of your essay (we will go over this in a minute) and you must include a works cited page.

Acceptable Sources Before you use a source make sure it is reliable. If you are on a website and can’t find a ‘Who we are’ kind of section: skip it. The information must be corroborated. If you only find it in one place, there is probably a reason for that. Wikipedia: Sorry folks. I know you all love it, I do too but it is NOT a scholarly source. You can absolutely use it to spark some ideas
