Second largest employment provider, after Agriculture. Export value is US $ 20 Billion and Domestic Consumption is US $ 35 Billion. It provides employment to around 10.2 mn persons. (Total number in Textile industry is around 62 mn) By 2022 additional 6.00 million people would be required in the Apparel industry alone. Out of this, around 4.18 Mn would be 12 th /10 th class pass outs/School drop outs Some details about apparel sector

All Training Providers/Manufacturers which have training facility can participate in the scheme The TPs or Manufacturers shall first visit the website of AMH SSC at www.sscamh.com and download the required form for affiliation www.sscamh.com Filled in forms along with necessary details/documents need to be sent to the AMH SSC office at Apparel House, Gurgaon. The Council will then conduct inspection at the premises of the TPs and Manufacturers. How to affiliate with amh ssc

After the inspection/Due diligence the TP/Manufacturer shall be affiliated and an affiliation certificate shall be issued The affiliated TPs shall align their course curriculum to the National Occupational Standards (NOSs) Thereafter, the trainers of the Training Providers shall be imparted with the Training of Trainers (TOT) After TOT and alignment of curriculum, the TPs are authorised to start training students. We have recently developed a job role, namely ‘ Self Employed Woman-Tailoring’ Those village women who have prior stitching skills shall be given 5 days training and during those days their stitching skills shall be brushed, in addition to teaching measurement, soft skills etc. After that, they would be assessed and certified under the RPL scheme of the PMKVY. After getting certified, they can start stitching clothes of fellow villagers and subsequently, we shall arrange to make their clusters and connect those clusters with manufacturers. NGOs can mobilise such women so that this programme can be popularised. Which job role the ngos should concentrate at
