3 Parent Association Mission Statement Mission of the TVT Parent Association is to build community and enhance the educational and social experience of each TVT student and family. StaffFamilies Internal Community (TVT) External Community (Community Service) Students

Booster Committee needs parent representative to help support our sports teams and relay key events to PA to promote; they will promote/sell TVT logo wear and promote weekly spirit wear days in the Lower School; and they will help organize school spirit events (alumni day, Lion Madness day, etc). Booster Committee needs parent representative to help support our sports teams and relay key events to PA to promote; they will promote/sell TVT logo wear and promote weekly spirit wear days in the Lower School; and they will help organize school spirit events (alumni day, Lion Madness day, etc). 7 Community Service Mission: This committee will seek, organize, coordinate and provide service opportunities both on campus and in the community, for two to three family community service days throughout the year. This committee promotes helping others and strengthens community relationships. Last year, over 400 community members came together, with Friends and Family Community Connection (FFCC), to package grain to feed 40,000 people. This year our goal and hope to feed 50,000. Food will go to Tanzania and one of the poorest regions in world. Having our community stand side by side, shoulder to shoulder, to do this important work gives us all a sense that we CAN make a difference. Save the Date When: February 7th Where: TVT

8 Community Service Mission: This committee will seek, organize, coordinate and provide service opportunities both on campus and in the community, for two to three family community service days throughout the year. This committee promotes helping others and strengthens community relationships. TVT FOOD RITUAL OC Food Bank provides food for the working poor in and around OC We can help – Every Friday, starting September 25th, have your child bring one can of food to school. Food collection boxes are located around the LS campus and in the front office.

9 Holiday & Special Events CHAIRS Alin Barak Deborah Nassir Mission: This committee coordinates Back to School picnic, assemble Rosh Hashanah honey bags, Purim Baskets, Spring Shabbat Dinners, etc. Helps with programs that are not class/grade level specific. 10 Green Committee CHAIRS Dahlia Shadian Sue Applegate Mission: Committee helps promote environmental consciousness through student education and the implementation of programming (recycling, trash-free days, etc). Committee also assist with planters and gardens in the lower school, and help develop healthy food choice projects. Help Recycle!Earth DayGardening!

11 Arts & Library Committee CHAIRS Monica Levy Mission: Committee help both in regularly scheduled shifts and as needed in both library and art rooms. Assistance needed in art room both during and between classes to help with preparation of supplies and display of finished art. Library volunteers also needed during book fair. Volunteers are needed to help with Culminate and Celebrate (May). Art Class Assistance Book Fair March 25 – April 1 Culminate & Celebrate (May)

12 Additional Committees CommitteeCommittee Mission Faculty Appreciation Oversees series of week long events held in May, as a “thank you” to our wonderful faculty and staff. ChesedAssists TVT community who are ill or need of assistance by coordinating food delivery, rides or other support for them. Parent Ambassador Volunteers represent school by : providing tours to prospective families; segment leaders who work to promote TVT in environments with prospective students; and mentoring families new to the school. Spring Benefit Support annual fundraiser - all parents, faculty and staff are invited to participate and attend. Spring Benefit is a community event and a wonderful opportunity to socialize.

15 PA Beyond Common Core Math There are approximately 626 parents at TVT. All parents at TVT can participate as a PA volunteer. 19 parents hold either officer or committee chair positions on the PA. 16 President Meetings: Preside at all PA & officer meetings Liaison: Serve as liaison between PA, B of D, faculty, admin Appointments: Ensure appointment of committee chairs Budget: Lead PA budget development Committee Member: Serve as ex officio committee member Approvals: Obtain approval for contracts, PA writings Notify: PA grade coordinators of PA mtgs and their agenda. Vice President Meetings: Preside at PA & officer meetings, if Pres. absent* Attend as necessary PA committee mtgs & report to Pres. Representative: Representative to mtgs of faculty & admin* Generally assist the President of PA.
