Layer Filters2 u A large number of layers in a drawing u Is cumbersome to use when all layers are displayed. u Layer filters u Are used to screen/filter out layers that you do not want to display in the Layer Properties Manager.
3
Layer Filters3 u Layer filter: All u Displays all layers in drawing (empty or not)
4
Layer Filters4
5
5 u Layer filter: All Used Layers u Default filter created by AutoCAD u Cannot be removed/modified u Hides all empty layers.

7 Creating Layer Filters u Creating Layer Filters u Two types of filters can be created: u Property Filter u Group Filter
8
Layer Filters8
9
9 Creating Layer Filters u Property Filter u Filters layers according to specific layer properties. u Layer Name u Layer color u Layer linetype, etc. u All layers that are turned on u All layer names beginning with “A” u All layer names that contain “1 st floor”
10
Layer Filters10
11
Layer Filters11 Creating Layer Filters u Property Filter u Example: can filter all layers that are u Turned on. u Have a name beginning with the letter A u Or both u The default ALL Used Layers filter is an example of a property filter.
12
Layer Filters12 Creating Layer Filters u Group Filter u Is created by adding layers to the filter without defining individual layer properties. u Example u To filter all layers used to draw an electrical plan, drag and drop the electrical layers into the group filter, u instead of u using properties, such as all layer names beginning with the letter E.
