3 Gallipoli In Gallipoli a man called Sir Ian Hamilton was appointed to lead a force of 75,000 troops. The ottomans had over 500,000 men in battle and 250,000 of the men injured and 89,000 died. Turkey signed up German men to help themselves attack Russia. back

4 Soldiers life One soldier was paid 10 shillings a week. A soldier could choose if they had white chocolate, milk chocolate or dark chocolate. Almost 50% of everyone who went war died or wounded. 37 million soldiers survived in world war 1. back

5 Women in World Word One Women got to have jobs in world war one but when the war ended women could not do the jobs anymore and men went to do the jobs again. Some jobs that women got where ammunition factory’s, Police officers. 950,000 women were being implored a day to join the ammunition factory. back

6 World War One football match on Christmas On Christmas 1914 the English and the Germans played football. The day after Christmas a English man kicked the ball over to the Germans and then the Germans came to no mans land and started to shoot. back

7 Famous soldiers Sergeant stubby, was a dog in world war 1 what knows from a Germans hello to English hello and if he smelled a German he would bark at them so the English men could know. Sergeant stubby Lord Kitchener, was a man who made posters to make people join the war and he was a war recruiter. Lord Kitchener Walter Tull was the first black British officer in world war 1. back

8 Walter Tull Walter Tull was the first black British officer in world war 1. Walter Tull was a footballer and played for Tottenham and he played in the top division. Walter Tull was born in Folkestone on 28 th April 1888. back
