What is a rain forest? A rainforest is a hot and steamy place. At night the rainforest comes alive with animals. In the rainforest it rains almost every single day. There are many different types of plants and animals in the rainforest. Scientists haven’t discovered many plants and animals and believe one of the plants contains a cure for cancer.
4
Location of Rain Forests Most of the rainforests are located by the equator which is around 80 degrees F. The biggest rainforest in the world is located in South America and is called the Amazon rainforest. Some of the other rainforests are in North America, Asia, Africa, and Australia.
5
Emergent Layer There are some animals in this layer, in fact it has the least animals. The emergent layer is the most highest layer. In fact the emergent layer is where the tips of the biggest trees are. The animals of this layer are the Harpy Eagle, Monkey Sloth, Butterflies, Parrots, and Pygmy Glider.
6
Canopy Layer The Canopy layer is where the middle aged trees are. The Canopy layer contains some animals and plants such as butterflies, lizards, algae, parrots, jaguars, toucans, porcupines, frogs, orchids, monkeys, boa constrictors, iguanas, three-toed sloths, spider monkeys, and lots of birds.
7
Understory Layer The understory layer has lots of wonderful animals. The animals of this layer are the grasshopers, katydids, parrots, butterflies, ants, geckos, tree porcupines. Quills, spiders, macaws, lizards, and toucans. The understory layer is one before the forest floor.
8
Forest Floor The bottom layer of the rainforest is the forest floor. There are many amazing animals on the floor of the rainforest. The animals are anteaters, armadillos, dragonflies, spiders, jaguars, tree porcupines, ants, and capybaras.
9
Deforestation Some rainforests are being cut down almost every minute. There are many reasons that the rainforests are getting cut down. Here are four reasons : one is for people mining, to build new furniture and homes, doing cattle grazing, and building new cities and roads.
10
People of the Rain Forest There can be many people of the rainforest and some people actually live there for their homes and if people start to cut rainforest down the people that live there won’t have a home or food and they might die. This slide hopefully will prevent people to stop cutting down rainforests.
11
Some people plant special rainforests to be cut down to make things out of wood and then they plant new seeds. Some places don ’ t cut down the rainforests. Saving the Rainforest

The Baby Ocelot Hero Once there was a nice baby ocelot named Sydney. Once she was taking her afternoon walk on the forest floor. When she was walking she saw two men cutting down a tree. Sidney said, “Why are you cutting down this tree? Animals live here.” The men said, “ We need this wood to build new homes and to make new furniture.” Sydney said, “ Well don’t you have enough furniture already and isn’t there enough homes?” The two men said, “ Well, we didn’t think of that.” So the two men left the rainforest. So the baby ocelot and all the other animals lived happily ever after. The End

There once was a very hipper tree frog that lived in a tree hole. It was very nice but 1 night the tree crashed down luckily nobody got hurt but there home was destroyed. They noticed almost every tree was cut down and his family was the only animals he saw. So they hopped and panicked to find a pond and where to live. Then they saw a log by a pond and they decided to live there and they lived happily ever after. THE END Crazy Leaping Tree Frog
