Tobacco Use 2 nd is physical inactivity Chronic disease- causes 60% of deaths worldwide Vocab term- hypokinetic= disease caused by lack of movement Leading Cause of deaths are lifestyle related- 84% of the deaths before age 65 are preventable US ranks 24 th in life expectancy

EVERY MINUTE COUNTS!!!! Reduces heart disease Strokes Type 2 diabetes Colon and breast cancer High blood pressure Osteopathic fractures Anxiety Depression Elevates mood

RECOMMENDED AMOUNTS OF EXERCISE Need to burn at least 150 calories a day Absolute minimum is 30 min 5 days a week Preferred---- for teens 60 minutes everyday of moderate if vigorous can reduce to 3X If tend to be overweight need 60-90 minutes daily Every extra minute is beneficial

SO HOW DO WE KNOW IF OUR EXERCISE IS INTENSE ENOUGH TO BE CONSIDERED MODERATE?
