Ancient Armenia Armenia was the first officially Christian nation. (301 A.D.) Armenians were the first Christians to take up arms to defend their right to worship God. (451 A.D.)

Modern Armenia Long history of persecution by Muslims in Ottoman Empire and Turkey. Violent persecutions in 1895, and 1915. Oppression of Christians by Marxist Soviet Union after WWII.

Religion in Armenia 85% of population are Christian (2.9 million). Most (2.7 million) in “Armenian Apostolic” church. The true gospel of salvation by the grace of Christ alone through faith alone is largely forgotten.

Religion in Armenia Armenia: An island in a sea of Islam. Great potential to become an engine room for missions. One problem is a lack of Scriptural theology. A related problem is a lack of biblical churches.
